Autograph Collecting - Where to Get Autographs From

Collecting autographs of celebrities is exciting and many people are keen to acquire the autographs of their favorite stars and celebrities. One of the means of receiving an autograph is to be present at the venue where celebrities turn up and remain in queue, hopeful that the celebrity you are fascinated by will oblige you with that much sought after autograph. The major difficulty concerning it is that there is a great possibility that he/she won’t stop and sign. This is so since a large number of celebrities at present are worried about individual protection and safety and hardly ever pause for a session, or are shifted along as swiftly as they can. However, this is one of the best ways to ensure that the signature is genuine and unquestionably the most exciting.

Acquiring it Backstage

One less taxing manner is to dispatch your autograph book in the wings through those manning the stage or security guards, with a short message and possibly a few flowers for your icon, with a courteous request for an autograph. The majority of the stagehands or guards will carry out this minor job without charging any money or for a small sum and hand over the package backstage in sufficient time for the individual concerned to give the autograph in his or her spare time. Getting back following the program to the stage door or at the place you came across the delivery person and repossessing it is one more method of attaining the autograph. A large number of celebrities prefer this technique since they do not have to contend with a varied horde of loud enthusiasts brandishing autograph books in their faces. Your chances are much greater with a well written message of thankfulness in addition to a decent approach.

Autographs from Sportspersons

This is also effective for sports enthusiasts, transferring the planned base ball or picture into the clubhouse through a security guard or attendant. The majority of the players are thankful if they are not bothered for the duration of the initial warm-ups of the game and will sign at freely while hanging around for their chance to play or during an interruption in the proceedings.

Celebrities who Live Abroad

Another way to get an autograph is to buy it from a dealer if you intend to obtain a foreign celebrity’s autograph or a star who does not reside in the part of the country where you stay and hence is not likely to be accessible for a local show.

A little tact, politeness and skill always gets the desired result if you want to add to your autograph collection, since celebrities too are human, and prefer a gentle request to a brash horde that thrusts photographs and autograph books at them.

What Types of Trampolines Are Out There?: A Trampoline Review

While there are many types and styles of trampolines and trampoline accessories to choose, this trampoline review will touch on just a few. This trampoline review will touch on round trampolines, square trampolines, small trampolines, large trampolines, indoor trampolines, and finally all the exciting trampoline accessories we can choose from.

Trampoline Review: The Round and Square of It

There are round trampolines and square trampolines. The benefit of round ones is that in many cases they last a lot longer since the stress of jumping on it is equally distributed around the frame. Then again a square trampoline fits more easily into a small square yard, and it is easier to stand side by side in a square trampoline. Most indoor trampolines come in the round style, so mainly square trampolines are outdoor sports equipment.

Reviewing trampolines, I found that both are easy to use and require the same skills and precautions. I tend to prefer round trampolines, however, many may prefer another shape. In my trampoline review I had to be fair and look at both sides of this issue. You will have to decide for yourself which style suits you.

Trampoline Review: The Small and Large of It

There are many sizes of trampoline to choose from. The smallest can be folded up and stored under furniture in the house or even carried on trips. The largest take up a good size space in the backyard, and even bigger ones can be blown up for parties and hold 100 or more people or kids.

Among these the most popular are the six feet in diameter, and also the 12-feet in diameter size. The smaller of the two is usually for indoor use only and the larger is most definitely for outdoor use only. I have reviewed both in my day, and currently my housemate and I share a small indoor trampoline in our recreation room in the basement. We find it enjoyable to bounce in front of the television or just to blow off some steam. What we like most about it is that the trampoline was a gift from one of her friends.

Trampoline Review: Accessories

I looked on the internet today as I was writing this trampoline review to see what kinds of accessories were available. There are many, some optional. Like the tent for camping, and the cage that protects jumpers from falling, and others were necessary, like the ladder and rail padding.

Simple Tips That Can Improve Your Photography

Photography is not as easy as it looks. Most of us click pictures without considering the angles or lighting. We may take good pictures but there’s always room for improvement. By following some simple tips we can transform from average photographers to great photographers.

What Tips Can I Follow To Improve My Photography?

The main thing to decide is your subject. What is it that you want to capture on film? Is it a person or a group of people? Some natural landscape? Wild animals? There is an endless list of things you can click. Once you decide on your subject, you can look at some other areas to improve your photography.

If it is a person you want to focus on, then make sure there is enough light falling on the person. Also ensure that the background is not too cluttered with distracting elements. You could have someone standing in front of some bushes or a plain wall so that the focus is on that person only. Zoom in to emphasize the subject in your picture. Correct lighting and focus can do wonders for your photography.

Framing your subject gives a very aesthetic touch to the photograph. You can use your imagination to find natural frames for your pictures. You can frame a person in a window, a picket fence or even rock formations. Another tip to improve your photography is to make sure you do not make the picture look too monotonous. For example, if you are taking pictures of a group of people then make them stand around randomly instead of putting them in a straight line.

You have to be careful of many things if you wish to improve your photography. When you focus on the subject, make sure you are not cutting off any part of the body, as a lot of us tend to do. When someone’s head or arm gets cut out from the picture, it looks really bad. Another problem area is wrong positioning of the subject. You don’t want to see a tree branch growing out of someone’s head or out of their ears! This is one thing about photography which you should be concerned about as it is not always easy to spot these things through the viewfinder.

You have a choice between portrait or landscape orientation. Portrait works best for tall objects such as people, buildings and trees as they give a vertical view. For shorter and longer subjects like animals, cars or some natural scenery you should use landscape or horizontal orientation. These simple tips should help you to improve your photography a great deal.

Is Origami An Art Or Craft?

Origami is an ancient Japanese art of making various artifacts and models by folding paper. Origami originated because the ancient Japanese considered it a sin to cut paper, which was an important medium for transmitting knowledge. From its humble origin as a technique to avoid cutting or tearing paper, origami has now gained the status of an art form.

Art or Craft-Understand The Difference
There is a lot of debate on the point of origami being an art or being “simply” a craft?” According to experts, craft is something that is made. For example, the craft of pottery-making, blacksmithing or even basket making, all these refer to the creation of tangible things. This argument strengthens the fact that origami is a craft. However, if origami is a craft, then how can it be art?

Art is something that is added to the craft that is original and unique. This uniqueness elevates craft to become a piece of art. The artisan thereby also becomes an artist. La Fosse’s rightly states it: “I believe that art is the unique contribution that any individual can give to their chosen craft”.

Traditionally, we may perceive art to be beautiful or something that has beauty. However, this is not necessarily true as a work of art may be beautiful, or equally frightening. All that matters is that the art express the truth. If one folds paper in a routine way, merely copying a model, it is craft but it is probably not art. However, if you fold the paper carefully and try to make your model unique, something that other people will admire, it may well be an art. Another thing that distinguishes art from craft is creation.

Even though something skillfully crafted may also be art but it does not imply that it is great. The difference between craft and art is the degree of originality of spirit. Pure art is beyond the scope of words to contain its essence. Pure art can never be replicated. If it is coped then it only becomes diluted and remains just a craft. I doubt whether origami creations could ever become great art on the level of Shakespeare, Bach or Leonardo. In simple words, if you can create a unique and original model out of origami with an impression of life and spirit in it, it will truly qualify to be craft and art.

Games
Now let us talk about games on PlayStation 3. When PlayStation 3 was released in November in US, it came with fifteen game titles. Resistance: The Fall Of The Man soon became a very popular game. MotorStorm, Elder Scrolls IV, Heavy Rain, Metal Gear Solid 4, etc are some of the popular PS3 games.

In fact, PlayStation 3 is an ideal family gift. It is something that the whole family can enjoy together. Moreover, I mean, not just play games together, but also watch movies, and share photo albums.

Autograph Collecting - Methods

Many people are keen on collecting autographs of celebrities. This hobby is extremely exciting and is an effective way of spending one’s leisure period. Many avid fans and autograph hunters go to extreme lengths to obtain the autographs of their favorite celebrities and stars. They wait patiently for hours for the stars to turn up for a particular show or program. Others adopt the less troublesome means of acquiring the desired autographs through mails from the celebrity concerned.

Genuineness of Autographs

The lone means with which you will actually recognize whether an autograph is authentic or not is if the individual involved signs it in your presence. This is ideal is if you don’t mind standing in long rows at a convention. This way you can obtain two or more signatures straight away, that is, if there is more than one individual signing. If you desire a signed photograph, several celebrities may demand a price, generally a certain sum that frequently is donated in charity.

Scores of celebrities possess official admirers’ clubs where you can obtain autographed photos if you enlist, occasionally authentic though at times they may possibly be secretarial or still pre-printed autographs. There are official websites on the internet as well where you are able to purchase assumed autographed photos but be circumspect as they are not at all times authentic and when they have taken your cash, you might not obtain a response.

How to Get Autographs

In case you carry your own photos along with you, you should be aware that if they possess their individual photos they might not put their signature on yours. Nonetheless, if you don’t desire to shell out any money they will more or less at all times autograph your program, autograph book, video covers absolutely free of cost and be extremely delighted to oblige you. The majority of guests mostly have their signing sessions restricted to an hour but others will gladly sign until the time every person who desires an autograph has obtained one.

Furthermore, the majority will gladly stand for a photograph and converse for a few seconds. If you make contact with a guest beyond the official signing assembly you might not at all times obtain an autograph but a few are pleased to sign. It is vital not to harass a star, and this rule should be followed in every autograph collector’s interest. If you see them on the road or in a restaurant then it should be your foremost task to give them the privacy they desire.

If a celebrity is performing in a theatrical production or event in your neighborhood, you can attempt meeting them at the stage door subsequently. Several of them are content to sign when they leave the theatre and occasionally when they enter as well.

Autograph collection is an art, and with time and practice, you will be able to hone your collecting skills to perfection, as well as learn to distinguish real autographs from fakes.

How to Deal with Trampoline Part Replacement

Face it, no matter how carefully you research your trampoline purchase, and no matter how much equipment you buy – or how much money you spend on upkeep of your equipment — things are going to break, things are going to be lost, and things are going to wear out. Like all things, trampolines will require a different part or a part upgrade from time to time. However, when it comes to things like trampolines, this can be a bit difficult to do. Dealing with trampoline part replacement can be tricky, but is worth your family and friends safety.

First Steps to Trampoline Part Replacement

The first thing you should do is take an inventory of the parts that came with your trampoline. If you have saved the box and the various pieces of equipment that came with your original purchase, it might be that there were some extra or replacement parts included in the purchase. If there is nothing with the original purchase, or if you have thrown away the box, the first step is to find out the name and brand of the trampoline. To proceed with trampoline part replacement, you first need the exact name and brand – and a serial number. If you do not have the box or the instruction manual, the serial number or brand name can often be found on the trampoline itself.

Continuing with Trampoline Part Replacement Steps

The next thing to do would be to call whatever number is associated with the company that sold you your trampoline. If there is no 800 number listed on the box or the instruction manual, you can always look online for a number to call. The company that sold the trampoline in the first place will have a better chance of being able to replace the equipment. If you have registered your product with them, perhaps it is the case that the parts will be replaced for a lesser charge.

If You Can’t Find the Company that Sold Your Trampoline…

It might be that you got your trampoline used or from a company that no longer exists. In this case, there are many venues on the internet or sporting goods stores in which you can buy replacement parts for your trampoline. Oftentimes, there are experienced professionals who will help with your search for parts.

No Matter What…

It is important to get the parts fixed! Trampoline part replacement is very important because a trampoline is something that cannot be used in bad condition. A trampoline will become very dangerous if its parts are broken or missing — matter what, find some help and get your trampoline fixed! It is too dangerous not to!

History of Origami

The name origami is derived from the Japanese words oru (to fold) and kami (paper) which literally means, “Folding paper”. Though paper was invented in the 1st century A.D. in China and introduced to Japan by Buddhist monks in the 6th century A.D., it is difficult to establish whether the art of Origami was invented in China or Japan. It is, however well established that origami evolved into a very high art form in Japan.

Origami was extensively used in religious ceremonies and various aspects of Japanese life, especially architecture. Thus, origami became an integral part of the Japanese tradition. There is a limited written record of those periods as most of origami instructions were passed on through the orally. Senbazuru Orikata (Thousand Crane Folding) is said to be the oldest written document available on origami. Origami spread to the Arab world in the eighth century. The Arabs used origami for studying the geometry of paper and in exploring possibilities in mathematics. They took this to Spain in the twelfth century where it evolved into paperflexia, which is still popular in Spain as well as Argentina.

Origami And It Popularity

Friedrich Froebel introduced paper folding in Germany around 1835, during the kindergarten movement. This was the introduction of Origami to the Western world. It became a popular children’s hobby in the England of Queen Victoria, and children’s books by Lewis Carroll highlighted the art when they featured the illustrations of two simple origami hats.

The popularity of origami in recent times is largely attributed to Yoshizawa Akira. He devised new ways of paper folding which were quite radical from the traditional methods. He developed a technique known as black coating to produce paper that is best for folding. He also developed the technique of wet folding which facilitates easy molding of 3D model of paper. He even published books with new models of origami in the 1950’s. He collaborated with American Sam Randlett and developed the standard set of origami diagram symbols that are used today. He is considered the grandmaster of origami in the world. He popularized it to the extent that various origami associations were established for origami enthusiasts. These associations and clubs produced many master paperfolders. Novel and innovative ways of paper folding is constantly being developed. Origami has evolved from a technical skill to a complete new level.

The creative composition of models and paper choice is crucial in this newfound artistry. Complex shapes of insects with intricate details are created which was impossible in the past, giving origami a modern touch of anatomical significance.

Autograph Collecting - Fake Autographs

The word “autograph” refers to an individual’s signature but it is used nowadays in connection with the signatures of stars and well-known personalities. A large number of people derive immense pleasure from collecting autographs of their favorite stars and some of the widely admired stars whose autographs are in great demand belong to the realm of sports, the celluloid world, music, art and literature.

Autograph collecting is a fascinating pastime for many who take great pleasure in accumulating a sequence of historical papers, correspondence or items that have been autographed by a distinguished individual as a means of attaining a piece of history.

Some autograph collectors concentrate their activities on a particular field for example getting hold of papers signed by sports personalities, eminent singers, renowned musicians or actors and actresses of great repute.

Forged Autographs

Unfortunately, this unique and well liked past time is marred with papers, photographs and sports articles that are signed by unscrupulous counterfeiters who are only desirous of earning huge profits by selling either a counterfeit or duplicate item ostensibly autographed by the genuine celebrity to an unsuspecting purchaser. At times, it is only the signature that has been counterfeited, while in other instances the whole document containing the desired autograph of a concerned individual is deviously tampered with and forged, making them appear as real and is passed off as authentic. These are subsequently sold at a great price and the forgery is difficult to be detected by the naked eye.

Counterfeit or fake autographs of almost every illustrious personality whose autographs are in great demand are found in plenty. Distinguishing the fake from the real is nearly impossible for the collector, both amateurs and at times the experienced collectors as well.

Unfortunately there are numerous counterfeit autographs being put up for sale via several internet auction companies, second-hand book stores, and other markets dealing in used goods or antiques. The amateur collector must not be lured by the large number of popular autographs being made available without verifying its authenticity by experts if possible.

Counterfeiters take great pains to make their imitation look genuine. They make use of clear end papers of books from the past in which to make their forged autographs in their bid to “correspond” their autograph with papers of the period to which the famed personality belonged.

So you must always make enquiries and verify the antecedents of the person, website or organization from whom you are buying the autograph before purchasing. Insist on a note specifying the date and place the autograph was collected, and most genuine dealers will give this certificate once you purchase an autograph from them.

Replace the Trampoline or Just the Damaged Trampoline Part?

If a trampoline part is giving you trouble and you don’t know if you should just invest in another trampoline, or is it better to replace the damaged trampoline part? Depending on the damaged part sometimes it is better just to get a new trampoline and at times just investing in a part will give you a brand new trampoline back.

When to Consider Replacing a Trampoline Part and When Not To

Repairs will eventually be needed after exposing the trampoline to sun for long periods of time; weathering and even just plain using the trampoline for its normal purposes of exercise and plain old fashioned fun.

Trampoline mats, for example, are made of polypropylene mesh, which is a strong woven fabric of tremendous endurance and elasticity. If you have a small hole in the mat (a small hole is less than one inch in diameter) you may try and repair it; there are many companies who offer service repairs, rebuild and hole patching. Sometimes, these companies will suggest you replace the whole mat instead of patching it for safety reasons.

Keep this guidelines in mind: If your trampoline is older than 10 years you should consider replacing the entire piece of equipment when it shows signs of wearing out, or when it is torn from the edges, or has been repaired previously, or especially when the frame gives in or shows signs of serious damage.

The trampoline’s normal life is approximately seven to eight years; the life of the trampoline mat can be extended by using UV protective cover when not in use, as this will prevent the sun’s UV rays from deteriorating the mat stitches any sooner then they have to.

Trampoline part replacement should only be done at specialized stores where qualified personal will help you make the right decision, keeping your safety in mind. It is very important that you stop using your trampoline should you see that any trampoline part is severely damaged or deteriorating. Make everyone aware in the house that is likely to use the trampoline that it is not safe to use it until the damage is fixed.

Many people enjoy the fun of trampoline exercising and just plain having fun with family and friends, however, being careful and making sure it is safe to use the trampoline is what will make the fun remain fun, and not turn into tragedy.

An Introduction To Black And White Photography

Black and white photography is an art in itself. Most professionals shoot in color but black and white photography has a charm of its own. Black and white photographs have an aura of being classic and timeless. Black and white photography is only slightly different from taking color photographs as some of the things you need to concentrate on in this category of photography are different.

Some Tips To Help You

The reason black and white photography is quite popular is because there are fewer things to concentrate on. You need to only focus on the subject and lighting as there is no color to worry about. A black and white photograph is the perfect solution to a situation where there is not enough light. Imagine an outdoor shoot and the sky is overcast causing everything to look dark and shadowy. In such a condition there is no point in taking color pictures as the colors will look faded and the pictures will be very dull. But black and white photography in this case will actually use the shadows to great effect and the subject will become more prominent in the photographs.

Black and white photography brings out contrast better. If you wish to take a picture of a bride dressed in a beautiful white wedding gown, the best effect would be to set her against a dark background. The bride will be the most prominent feature in the picture.

An advantage of black and white photography as opposed to color photography is that there are fewer imperfections visible. This is one reason why most people prefer taking their portraits in black and white as it covers most of the blemishes on their skin. Color photographs on the other hand highlight most of the blemishes so it is not a good idea to take close-ups in color.

In black and white photography you do not need the use of color to enhance your pictures. Instead you need to consider other factors to bring out the best in your pictures. You need to concentrate more on the shapes, textures, lines and tones. What you cannot use in color photographs becomes your advantage point in black and white ones. I am taking about shadows. You can make good use of shadows in black and white pictures to highlight certain areas and downplay others. A cloudy and gloomy day is a bane for color photography but a boon for black and white photography for this reason.

To stand out in black and white photography you do not need any special skills. If you follow the basics mentioned above and practice a bit, you will be able to produce phenomenal black and white photographs.

Star Autographs are exciting to amass and high-quality autographed pictures can be a wonderful asset. Take pleasure in your effort, recognize the value of your treasure and exhibit your compilation attractively, it will offer you immense fulfillment.

Due to the fact that star autographs are exceedingly collectable, you ought to be alert of the drawbacks connected with amassing them. Verifying genuineness can be a real difficulty in recent times for collectors.

Beware of Counterfeits

A significant number of autographs that emerge on internet auction sites are counterfeit. This is the reason why their price seems to be exceptionally attractive. The unfortunate reality is that many individuals are paying cash for pictures that are insignificant when they buy autographed memorabilia from Internet auction sites. Akin to every object in life you pay for what you obtain. If a star autograph is selling for a cost that appears to be too attractive to be real, then it almost certainly is not genuine.

The majority of the dependable autograph dealers will be in a position to furnish you with the date and location where the item was autographed. History of Autograph Collecting

No one knows exactly how this hobby started. Historians who have studied autograph collecting identify 16th century German students as the forerunners of present-day autograph hunters. Wandering intellectuals preserved books packed with epistles composed by individuals they came across in the course of their journeys. This kind of a compilation functioned as a filing arrangement for letters of presentation to prospective destinations down a student’s course.

The motivation of these scholars to accumulate autographs was simple; the worth of the collected signatures was in their capability to unlock doors, it was not inherent in the handwriting of the different signers. Towards the end of the 18th century, interested individuals all over Europe were accumulating compilations of communication and scholarly handwriting written by the famous men of politics and intellect.

Today, autograph collecting has become a big industry, involving auctions that can run into millions of dollars! No longer are signed letters used just for opening the doors of opportunity to higher education or employment; autograph collecting is now a hobby that excites people and celebrity watchers.
