Considered a Green Quilt for Your Next Project?
When it comes to quilting, there are colours we like to use and then there are colors we barely, if ever, use. I used to do this all of the time, whenever I’d start a new project and in my head, I’d go through blues, whites, reds and pinks each time without fail.
These were always my favourite colors to work with. What I didn’t consider was whether my projects would look nice in colours other than this. It was in recent times that I have stared to feel like I was getting stuck in a groove.
After sitting down and thinking about what I could do to get out of it, I realised that I never truly considered using other colors. Well, I was going to rectify that!
Shortly after that, I resolved to start a new {quilt} with a colour I hadn’t used before. After some thought, I made a decision that my next quilt would be a green quilt.
I tell you what, that was one of the finest choices I had made in a while. While I made quilts in other colors, there were such a lot of different quilts that worked better as green quilts.
It was also so easy to come up with new quilt ideas based around that color. I started with just simple green patterns and then progressed on to quilts that had plant motifs and even made a clover themed quilt as a tongue in cheek joke present for an irish friend of mine. We both had a good giggle and it still remains one of her favourite quilts today.
I should know, it was covering her bed the last time I went over there.
While there are several other things you can do with this colour, a green quilt will not just stick out from other quilts, its certain to be a favourite amongst your collection. So give it a go today!
